Park Hyo Shin is Released from the Army
He appeared in front of the Ministry of Defense in Yongsan to return to society on the morning of September 24. The singer had started serving in December 2010 after promoting his sixth studio album, and joined the ranks of PR agents to serve in the Defense Media Agency (DEMA).
Park Hyo Shin appeared in front of the press with a bright expression, and after saluting to the crowd, said, “I′ve waited so long for this moment, and I feel nervous.”
He then continued to thank the fans and press who had gathered to see him for his release.
The rookie idol group VIXX came to visit the scene and congratulate Park Hyo Shin.
Park Hyo Shin has hosted a radio show on Friends FM while he was serving, and supported diplomatic activities in the military for DEMA.

Park Hyo Shin: “I Want To See Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung In Person”
Singer Park Hyo Shin is now back in the market! The music market, that is.
He has finished his military service on September 24 at 8:30am (KST), serving at the post in Yongsan for the past 21 months as an active duty soldier and was selected to serve as an entertainment soldier.
A group of reporters crowded around the entrance of the base to catch Park Hyo Shin for an interview. Here’s an excerpt of the interview:
Q: What’s the thing you want to do most after leaving active duty?
Park Hyo Shin: “I want to have a cup of americano. My throat’s dry. I feel very nervous right now. I couldn’t sleep last night so I want to sleep now.”
Q: Which girl group member do you want to see the most?
Park Hyo Shin: “I realized that all previous celebrities picked 1 person during their post-military service conference. I thought a lot about who I should pick yesterday. Even though I participated in a lot of concerts, it’s hard to pick 1 girl group. They’re all great. It would be great if they continue to improve and show better sides of themselves. I talked about Girls’ Generation right before I entered the army, but now I changed my mind and like all girl groups.” “It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung. It would be great if I get to see her at least once during my activities. I’ve seen her many times on TV, but it would be great if I could see her in person.”
At the end of the short interview, he gave closing remarks. “Thank you so much to the fans who came here today. I’m a bit disheveled. I feel like I want to fly after seeing you guys. I was able to survive the past 2 years with your patience and cheers. I will show a better self and provide great music that I wasn’t able to the past 2 years.”

Captain Park Hyo Shin discharged from military today
Singer/Song writer Park Hyo Shin was discharged from military service today, 24th September 2012. After 2 years in service he finally returns back to his fans. mynC was so excited for the return of Captain Kyo. His official fan club ‘SoulTree’ members were greeting him. He must be very surprised to see the love given by his fans.
Park Hyo Shin started his military service in December 2010 until September 2012 and been assigned at Defense Entertainment Military Association. Park Hyo Shin also first acting in Military Broadcast TV drama ‘March’. Can’t wait to watch it!!!.
Will there be a comeback concert this year? We’ll see…mynC will definitely not going to miss it. The boy group under the same agency as Park Hyo Shin, VIXX appeared also at the discharged ceremony event to celebrate their sunbaenim return.

Park Hyo Shin Discharged From Military After a Year and 10 Months
Singer Park Hyo-shin, the ‘Crown Prince of Ballads’, has finished his military service after a year and 10 months.
Park, who has enlisted on December 2010, has declared his discharge, and was officially discharged from his service, on 24th.
Park Hyo-shin, walking with a straight and proud military stride, saluted his fans and the press who gathered there to greet him.
He, after looking around, commented, “I’m nervous” and “I was waiting for this moment for such a long time, and I never thought it would be like this”.
He, before being discharged, shared an embrace with his fellow entertainer-soldiers. His subordinates cheered and applauded him before he walked out of the building.
Park continued, “I couldn’t sleep (yesterday) because I was nervous” and “corporal Im Joo-hwan shined my battle boots, and I was up talking to him until 4 a.m.”
To his senior Lee Joon-ki’s comments of his actions being slow in his service, Park gave a comment as well, saying “I was at first quite slow” and “I think I needed some time to get adjusted to the life in the army”.
“I think I improved thanks to my ruthless seniors”, he commented, and left a message for Lee, commenting “Joon-ki, I like your drama. I’m always cheering for you. I hope we can get together and share a drink later on”.
200 fans gathered for his discharge, with some fans bearing cards with words ‘You’re our only one Hyo-shin’ and handmade flower necklaces and cake.
His juniors at his company, VIXX, also was present to greet him. He embraced his juniors, who came to see their senior after his service.
Park commented, “thank you for coming, I didn’t expect so many of you to come” and “I am happy to see your face again after my initiation”, smiling.
Tears were also brought to his eyes after his emotions arose. Park commented, “I really feel as if I would burst into happiness seeing all of you here” and “thanks to your concerns and cheers, I think I managed to cope with the service better than I expected”.
“I gave much concern and worries to you, and I hope to have happy and good times with you for a long time after this.”
At the question of his plans after his discharge, he answered, “I wish to rest a bit before my comeback” and “I want to have some peace as a civilian, not a soldier. I will come back with good music after that.”
Park Hyo-shin, one of the nation’s most respected and beloved vocalists, have enlisted on December 2010 after his 6th album ‘Gift 2′, serving as an entertainer-soldier, and will appear on the Army TV Network’s drama ‘March’ as a cameo.

Korean solo artist Park Hyo-shin was discharged from his mandatory military duties Monday.
The singer entered the military in December 2010 and has fulfilled his two-year military service as part of the Defense Media Agency based in Yongsan, Seoul in South Korea.
“Park will embark on recording new albums and hosting concerts, but the firm will help him to take a break for a while,” a PR rep from his agency Jellyfish Entertainment told the magazine in a brief phone interview.
Park made his debut with the debut album “This I Cannot Do For You” in 1999. Being one of the strongest vocalists here, he gained much popularity with the release of “Snow Flower,” a track listed in the soundtrack to the hit TV Series “I’m Sorry, I Love You” (KBS, 2004).
Meanwhile, Korean rapper Outsider also fulfilled his mandatory military service as of Monday.
After joining the army on the same day as Park, the rapper has committed to his duties in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
It is likely that he will roll out a new album this year but nothing has been set yet, an official from his agency, Sniper Sound, told the magazine over the phone this afternoon.
Outsider, whose real name is Shin Ok-chul, broke into the music scene with his first EP album “Come Outside” in 2004.
Drawing much attention from the music fanatics with his fast rapping skill, the hip-hop artist shot to stardom with “Loner,” listed in “Maestro” released in 2009.
Legendary singer Park Hyo Shin, who has recently been discharged from the military, selected Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung as the girl group member he would most like to meet in person.
Reporters for the September 26th broadcast of sbS‘s ‘One Night of TV Entertainment‘ visited the location of the base where Park Hyo Shin was discharged from, for a brief interview.
When asked which girl group he missed the most, Park Hyo Shin selected Girls’ Generation without hesitation and chose member Sooyoung.
“It’s been a while since I’ve last seen Sooyoung, so I would like to meet her in person at least once during my activities.”
In addition, Park Hyo Shin caught the attention of viewers by revealing, “While serving in the military, I received a Minister of Defence and Army Chief of Staff Award. They say I’m the first person to receive both awards in 60 years.”

“Be The Star” has been run in 8 months… Corporal Park Jun Young and Yoon Jae Ho won the victory
The competition “Be The Star” – the special project of 700,000 soldiers which has been run in 8 months – had chosen its winner.
In the final round of “Be The Star” that took place at Chungnam’s Gyeryong Cultural and Arts Center on 24th Sept, 12 teams with 25 soldiers, with the support of their families and comrades, had heated the competition up.
To search and foster the talented soldiers on this day’s festival, the PR Department of the Ministry of Defense has held the audition to make the first star soldier with over 5000 volunteers within the Forces to fulfill the target.
Among the 12 teams in the final round, Corporal Park Jun Young and Yoon Jae Ho from Division 12 of the Army, who used guitar and Jembae drum to cover Busker Busker’s “A Bunch of Flower” in a very sweet way, had won the grand prize.
“Thanks to the talents in the Army who give me this opportunity”; “I’ll do better in the military life and military service, as well as study music harder” said Corporal Park.
Besides that, entertainer Corporal Lim Ju Hwan and MC Yoon Sang Kyung hosted the show; singer Hong Kyung Min and singer Park Hyo Shin, P.f.c Kang Chang Mo (KCM) who’s being served in the PR Department of the Ministry of Defense are the judges that attended to vote and sum up the score to find the final winner.

Park Hyo Shin’s challenge: acting in Armed Forces
Armed Forces TV drama “March” will be aired in October.
A month before to be discharged from the army, singer Park Hyo Shin (31) is challenging himself, acting in Armed Forces TV drama “March”. He is showing in drama for first time since his debut in 1999.
According to the crew of the drama, Park Hyo Shin will make cameo appearance as late age enlisted soldier. “March” is the first drama, produced by Armed Forces TV . In “March” is starring Yoo Gun (“Prosecutor Princess”), Im Joo Hwan (“Tamna, the island”), Kim Jae Wook (“Coffee Prince”). All of them are currently serving in Defense media promotional crew.
March episode will be aired on October 1st, when Hyo Shin will be discharged, but still we will watch it, right? According the article, the pre-released work is all done.

국방부 정책홍보 우수사례로 선정 ‘국민응원가’로 군의 밝은 모습 전달 / 2012.08.20
국방부의 ‘2040 타깃 이미지 홍보 – 군가보다’가 정책홍보 우수사례로 선정됐다.
청와대는 지난 17일 이명박 대통령 주재로 정책홍보 우수사례 보고대회를 개최하고 정책홍보 우수기관과 홍보유공자를 표창했다.
이 보고대회는 국방부를 비롯해 문화부·지경부·고용노동부 등 39개 정부 부처에서 국민들을 대상으로 진행한 정책홍보 사례를 매달 1편씩 제출받아 이 가운데 우수 사례를 선정, 격려하기 위한 행사다. 상·하반기로 나눠 1년에 두 차례 열리고 있으며, 국방부는 지난해 상반기 보고대회에서 국무총리 표창을 수상한 바 있다.
이날 대통령 표창을 받은 ‘2040 타깃 이미지 홍보 – 군가보다’는 국민들이 친숙하게 느낄 수 있는 군가를 널리 알리고 함께 부를 수 있도록 군가를 리메이크한 것이다. 이를 위해 올 1월 초 국방부 SNS에서 투표를 통해 다시 듣고 싶은 군가로 ‘멋진 사나이’와 ‘푸른 소나무’를 채택했다.
이어 박효신 병장을 비롯한 홍보지원대원들이 편곡과 연주를 하고 수방사 장병 30명이 합창에 참여했으며, 뮤직비디오 촬영에는 국방부 소속 육·해·공·해병대 의장대 50명이 함께하는 등 노래와 영상의 완성도를 높였다.
특히 ‘멋진 사나이’는 유튜브에서 공개 1주일 만에 조회 수가 24만 건을 돌파하고 방송과 신문 등 각종 언론매체에서 ‘국민응원가’로 보도되는 등 국민들에게 군의 밝고 건강한 모습을 전달하는 데 많은 기여를 했다.
국방부는 이날 보고대회에서 우수기관으로 선정돼 문화부장관 표창도 함께 받았다.
이 날 행사에서 이 대통령은 “정책홍보는 자기 자신이 100% 이해하고 국민들에게 정확히 알려야 겠다는 필요성을 스스로 느끼는 것이 중요하다”며 “런던 올림픽 레슬링에서 금메달을 딴 김현우 선수가 ‘나보다 땀을 더 흘린 선수가 있으면 금메달을 따 가도 좋다’고 했는데 그 어떤 소감보다도 담백하고 가슴에 와 닿는 얘기였다. 열정을 갖고 업무에 임해 달라”고 당부했다.

And “a great man” showed explosive popularity in youtube, hitting 24,000 views in a week which is rare for army songs. And apparently phs’s army division won an award for their good works in remaking the songs that can bring more inspiration and perspectives towards the Korean army. 14일 오후 4시 서울 홍대 브이홀에서는 그룹 빅스의 두 번째 싱글 앨범 발매 쇼케이스 및 기자간담회가 개최됐다.
이에 자리한 홍빈은 “이번 신곡을 준비하면서 가장 기억에 남는 일은 군 복무 중인 박효신 선배가 직접 우리 안무를 봐준 것이다. 휴가 중임에도 직접 연습실에 찾아와 마이크 드는 법부터 다 알려줬다”고 말했다.
이에 켄은 “내가 별명이 깡통인데 박효신 선배가 ‘야 깡통 네가 제일 못해’라고 했다”며 즉흥 성대모사도 해 웃음을 자아냈다.
더불어 라비는 컴백에 앞서 “곡을 직접 작사, 작곡을 꾸준히 하려고 노력하고 있는데 이것이 우리 빅스만의 매력이다. 언젠가는 우리가 만든 곡으로만 이뤄진 앨범을 낼 것이다”라고 덧붙였다.
이날 자리한 젤리피쉬 프로듀서 황세준 대표는 “우리 회사는 과격함보다는 소프트함을 추구한다. 대중들과 호흡을 하는 것을 중요하게 여기고 있으며 이번 곡이 게임 콘셉트라서 많은 매력을 느낄 수 있을 것이다”라고 설명했다.
이 날 흰 옷에 각자의 개성에 맞는 포인트를 준 의상을 입고 등장한 빅스는 팬 들 앞에서 데뷔 곡 ‘수퍼 히어로’로 포문을 열고, 이번 곡 ‘록 유어 바디’, ‘아픈데 좋아’를 연이어 선보이며 화려한 퍼포먼스를 펼쳤다. 빅스는 이날 파워풀한 춤사위에 흔들림 없는 가창력을 선보여 팬들의 큰 환호를 받았다.
빅스는 지난 5월 데뷔 앨범 ‘수퍼 히어로’로 눈도장을 찍은 뒤 두 번 째 싱글 앨범 ‘록 유어 바디’로 새로운 모습을 선보인다. 곡 ‘록 유어 바디’는 작곡가 신사동 호랭이가 작곡했으며 8비트의 레트로 게임 사운드풍의 인트로와 경쾌한 기타 리프가 인상적인 곡이다. 이 곡은 이성에게 느낀 사랑의 감정을 게임에 비유해 가사로 표현했으며 중독성 강한 댄스도 보는 재미를 배가 시킬 예정이다.

Q. 군 복무를 하며 위문열차 등을 비롯해 많은 공연을 하였는데, 전역 후, 어떤 도움이 될까?
A. 도움이 된다면 한 없이 도움이 되겠지만 혼란스럽기도 하였다. 사회에서 인기가 많았던 홍보지원대원 분들과 같은 무대에 서다 보면 혼란스러울 때가 있다. 전역한, 다이나믹듀오, 앤디, 미쓰라 진, 또, 박효신 병장은 데뷔 년수만 해도 오래 활동한 가수들인데 같은 무대에 서다보면 나도 그런가하는 착각을 하게 된다. 그런 경험들을 한 것은 감사하지만 나는 아직 갈길이 멀다고 생각을 한다. 이런 생각들이 힘들기도 하였지만 좋은 경험이었다.
Q. 군 복무하며, 힘들 때 가장 힘이 되어준 사람은?
A. 동기이자, 얼마 전 전역한 김지훈 예비역 병장이다. 이야기도 잘 들어주는 성격에 심리학을 전공하였다. 무슨 말을 해도 될 것 같은 사람이어서 항상 의지 했다. 우리가 힘든 점이 나이가 많은 사람들이 군 생활을 하다보니 나보다 나이가 많은 사람한테도 지시를 해야될 때가 많다. 그런 부분이 힘들고, 스트레스여서그런 부분에 대해 상담하고, 양쪽 입장이 되어서 알아듣기 좋게 설명도 해주었다. 넘버1이 김지훈 예비역 병장이다. 다음은 음악적으로 많은 도움을 준 박효신 병장이다. 대한민국 최고의 가수임에도 불구하고 내가 물어보는 음악적인 것이나 뭐든지 차근차근 잘 알려주어 두 분 다 다방면으로 도움을 많이 준 사람들이다. 다음 공동2등으로 이준기 예비역 병장이다. 냉정한 군 생활에 적응을 할 수 있게 혹독하게 대해주어서 고마웠고, 그런 것을 이겨내며 힘들었을 때, 맡 선임이 었던 최 진 예비역 병장이 많이 위로해주고 격려해주어서 군 생활 잘했던 것 같다.
Q. 본인이 전역할 때, 가장 아쉬워할 것 같은 후임?
A. 박효신 병장이 나보다 홍보지원대에 먼저 전입왔지만, 내가 일병 때 전입을 와서 선임이었다. 원래 신병이면 후임이 와야하는데 선임이 왔기 때문에 기분 나쁜 것이 있을까봐 막내 일을 많이 도와주고, 최대한 맡 후임이여서 많이 챙겨주려고 했었다. 그러다보니 더 돈독해지고 친해진 것 같아서 가장 아쉬워하지 않을까싶다. 그래서 박효신 병장, 보고있나? 박 병장!! 사랑스러운 사람, 사랑할 수 밖에 없는 사람, 알게되서 영광입니다.

And then he repeated the case in Vietnam in which a journalist took a picture of him with the note below “Singer Park Hyo Shin is performing”. According to him, after this case he’s got closer with our Captain 🙂
